Technology

It doesn’t really matter. It is my part of the job to make sure your developers’ team will be able to build it. I have experience in designing for Tableau, Power BI, and React. If you are using different software, I’ll reach out to your developers’ team and align with them on the limitations.

Who is this for?

This solution is meant for clients with various analytical needs. You might want to design a set of coherent dashboards for a small team, a whole company, or external users. During the requirements gathering, we will determine the scope of work and the solution's versatility.

How does it work?

The collaboration is based on agile methodology, where we split the work into iterations. We plan each step based on the current needs. Each time we focus on delivering a clearly define product - whether it’s a concept, MVP, or final version. This sets a clear criterion for success and allows us to focus on the current stage.

FAQ

What are design stages?

This is an essential stage. Regarding the option, we will always start with the requirements. If you already have an idea of what you need, great! Just send it to me, and I’ll start working. If you are not sure, it’s fine too. I’ll help you work on the specification during the workshop with your stakeholders and/or end-users.

This part depends on the scope agreed upon during the first stage. If your stakeholders want to be engaged in the process, we might work iteratively on polishing the design. If you are more interested in the final product than the process, it’s fine too. I will engage you only in the high-level concept, work on translating the requirements into design myself, and schedule some sanity-check calls midway.

Together with the designing stage, I can deliver the interactive mockup of the dashboard that the users can test. This optional stage is recommended for those building a new product (like data visualization for the app) or releasing a dashboard to the broader audience. This middle step between designing and developing will help address potential issues before time-consuming implementation starts.

Depending on the scope of collaboration, you might want to have the new design introduced. I can provide the workshop for your team on how to take the most out of it. This includes the introduction of the new dashboard to the broader audience, guidelines on the design implementation for the developers’ team, or data visualization best practices training. That way, your team will get the design system and receipt for using and adopting it.

If you are not sure, it’s fine too. I’ll help you work on the specification during the workshop with your stakeholders and/or end-users.

The next step is mapping these requirements onto design features and proposing the high-level concept (wireframe). It will be delivered with the proposition of the following steps and the estimated time needed to polish it.

This part depends on the scope agreed upon during the first stage. I recommend this step only for complex implementation. In most cases, we can skip this step and start building right away based on the high-level concept. We can work on that stage iteratively or sequentially based on your needs.

This part depends on the previous steps. If you decide to create a mockup first, I will start implementation based on the priorities. Otherwise, I will begin building based on the high-level concept. If your stakeholders want to be engaged in the process, we might work iteratively on polishing the design. If you are more interested in the final product than the process, it’s fine too.
